To ensure that Olena’s unique blend of medical and therapeutic services is the right fit for you or your teen, please click here to fill out our initial inquiry form. We typically respond to new inquiries within two business days.
Do you work with all genders?
While Olena specializes in women’s mental health and teen girls (13+), her practice is inclusive and welcoming to all. We are a proudly LGBT-affirming practice and offer support to trans women, trans men, and non-binary individuals. We also provide dedicated support for men who are seeking a more holistic or somatic approach to their mental health. All are welcome here.
Do you work with all ages?
We work with all patients ages 13 and up.
What exactly is "creative movement therapy", and how does it fit in with your roles as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor?
This is a rare combination that allows for "wraparound" care. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Olena can diagnose and prescribe medication. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), she provides clinical talk therapy. As a trained Movement Therapist, she integrates the body and nervous system into the healing process. This means you don’t have to see three different people; Olena looks at your biology, your mind, and your physical regulation as one connected system. Learn more about Movement Therapy.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Just bring yourself and a list of any current medications or supplements you are taking. If you have previous records from a psychiatrist or therapist, you can upload them in the portal prior to your visit. Learn more about your first visit.
How often will we meet?
The frequency of appointments depends on your specific needs:
Initial Evaluation: We start with a comprehensive 75 minute intake to discuss your history and goals.
Medication Management: If we are starting or adjusting medications, we may meet every 1–3 weeks initially. Once stabilized, we move to monthly or quarterly check-ins.
Therapy: Individual therapy sessions are typically held monthly or weekly to maintain momentum.
Do you take insurance?
We are currently in the credentialing process with the following insurance companies:
Independence Blue Cross
Medicare
Aetna
Credentialing is expected to be complete by May 2026. Once credentialing is finalized, we will be able to bill these insurances directly for your services. Early clients who choose to begin as self-pay will transition to insurance billing once credentialing is complete.
Have a different insurance? Contact us at info@mindbodypa.com or (215) 436-8108 to discuss your options. We may be able to provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. We are also taking feedback from potential patients on which insurance contracts to pursue next. Learn more about Insurance and Rates.
We require 24-hour notice for all cancellations or rescheduled appointments. This allows us to offer the time slot to another client in need. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to a $100 late-cancellation fee.
We see teens (ages 13+) and parents individually, but do not offer family therapy sessions. While this allows for a shared understanding of family systems, each person is a distinct client. We maintain a strict clinical firewall to ensure that the private therapeutic space of the teen is never compromised by the parent's treatment, except when safety is at risk.
Can you tell me, as a parent, what happens in my child's therapy session?
We provide a safe, confidential space for teens to share their experience. Safety-related information will be disclosed, while non-safety issues remain private.
Do you work as a child custody evaluator or help parents in custody disputes?
Mind-Body Psychiatric Services is a clinical practice, not a forensic one. We do not perform custody evaluations or provide recommendations for legal proceedings. While we can be subpoenaed as "fact witnesses", please note that legal appearances and record preparation may be subject to a forensic fee.
My teen is resistant to "talk therapy." Will this be different?
Yes. Many teens struggle with the pressure of sitting still and making eye contact for an hour. Because Olena incorporates Movement Therapy, sessions can be active. We use somatic tools to help them regulate their nervous system without the "interrogation" feel of traditional therapy. This often helps resistant teens feel safe enough to eventually open up.
Do you coordinate with my child's school?
Yes. With a signed release, we can provide documentation for 504 plans or IEPs and consult with school counselors to ensure your teen is supported academically and emotionally.
